Otanmäen sairauskassa myöntää  sääntöjensä mukaisia lisäetuuskorvauksia .

Sairauskassa ei ole liikelaitos – emme tavoittele voittoa! 

Sairauskassan toiminta rahoitetaan vakuutetuilta perittävillä vakuutusmaksuilla.
Sairauskassassa päätöksenteko on demokraattista; 
vakuutetut päättävät maksujen ja etuuksien tasosta. 
 Sairauskassa kohtelee kaikkia vakuutettujaan tasapuolisesti – säännöt ja etuuksien määräytymisperusteet ovat samat kaikille . 

Mikään sairaus ei pois sulje vakuutuksen piiriin pääsemistä tai vähennä korvausten määrää. 
Vakuutetun ei tarvitse täyttää terveysselvitystä tai ilmoittaa kassalle todettua sairautta.

Sairauskassan toiminta perustuu Vakuutuskassalakiin sekä Eläkesäätiö- ja eläkekassalakiin. 
Valvontaviranomaisena toimii Finanssivalvonta. 

Otanmäen sairauskassa on perustettu vuonna 1954.

The operation of the Health Insurance Fund is based on the Act on Insurance Funds and the Act on Pension Funds and Pension Funds.
The supervisory authority is the Financial Supervisory Authority.
